About the Recipe
I was a comically picky eater as a child. One night, I came home from a friend’s house raving about the popcorn shrimp I had at Red Lobster. My mother leapt at a rare opportunity to encourage eating anything but the hot dogs and pizza I’d subsisted on for years, and this began a weekly Friday night family dinner at Red Lobster tradition where I would load up on all the popcorn shrimp and Garlic Cheese Biscuits I could eat. My mother set out to find a recipe for the garlic cheese biscuits that she could make at home, and when she cracked it, it became a tradition at our family dinner table for years.
Ingredients
Bisquick
Garlic Powder
Parsley Flakes
Cheddar Cheese
Milk
Preparation
GARLIC CHEESE BISCUITS
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Lightly grease cookie sheet with Crisco or cooking spray
Mix together:
2 cups Bisquick
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp parsley flakes (dried is fine)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Add: 3/4 cup milk and mix by hand (don’t over mix - everything should be moist, but not smooth like cake batter)
Drop by large spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
Bake 7-9 minutes
While they are baking melt 2-3 Tbsps butter over low heat. When rolls are done ( or just before) brush rolls with melted butter. Heat another minute, or until done.
Transfer to cooling rack.
Makes 9-10 rolls
