Lucie Arnaz's Old Fashioned Crab Hors D'oeuvre Spread

About the Recipe

I used to spend summers with my Dad, Desi Arnaz, at his home on the beach in Del Mar, CA., and he hired a gal only about 4 years older than I was to teach me to ride and she and I ended up becoming best friends and that friendship has lasted all these years. She and I live 15 minutes from each other here in Palm Springs now. Her name is Cindy Shoemaker (once married to the world's winningest jockey, Willie Shoemaker!) and Cindy's mom, Elisabeth Barnes, always used to make this appetizer for me and I couldn't get enough of it. This is it!!!


  • 1 Can Lump Crabmeat (or 8oz fresh)

  • 1 Can Water Chestnuts (chopped)

  • ½ C Chopped Chives

  • ½ C Mayonaise

  • 1 T Soy Sauce

  • 2 T Lemon Juice

  • 1 T Chopped Parsley (for décor on top)


Mix all the ingredients except parsley together and sprinkle parsley on top for decoration. Serve on Triscuit Crackers!
